This fire station in Opelika, Alabama is a true testament to doing what’s best for the customer. Originally, the firemen just wanted the floor sealed to protect it. During the site visit, Brent with Precision Floor Care realized that the concrete had a lot of divots and wasn’t in great condition. He determined that with the heavy fire truck traffic in the station, the floors needed a floor coating system that was industrial strength for durability while also being low maintenance and looking good.
The best solution was Versatile’s system, starting with our 4195 Direct-to-Concrete Pigmented Epoxy Floor Coating in Whisper Grey, providing three times more adhesion than other epoxy floor coatings. The team then used 1/4-inch Smoke Blended Flake for the gray color variations as well as Safety Red color packs for the red line striping. The floor was then topped with the 5085 Ultra-High Solids Polyaspartic Floor Coating for added strength and durability. These coatings also make the floor stain- and scratch-resistant, as well as chip and peel-resistant, so the firemen can enjoy it for years to come. As an added touch, they also included the station’s logo on the floor.
